Black Himalayan Salt is a natural rock salt that is extracted by hand from salt rocks in the foothills of the Himalayas. It was formed over millions of years from oceanic salt deposits pushed to the surface by the movement of the Earth's crust and hot magma. Himalayan salt contains more than 95% sodium chloride and several minerals important to the human body in an easily digestible ionic form. These include potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and iron. The colour of its crystals can range from grey-white to black to slightly reddish. It has a slight sulphur odour.
Recommended use: in any dish where you normally add salt.
