Basmati is an aromatic long-grain rice that contains less arsenic than other types of rice. It is rich in carbohydrates and trace elements such as thiamine, folic acid and selenium. Due to their unique taste, aroma and texture, they are perfect for Asian dishes.
Recommended use: Wash the rice several times to remove excess starch until the water is almost clear. In a medium saucepan, bring to a boil 2 cups water and 1 cup rice. Cover the pot with a tight lid, then reduce the heat to low heat and cook for 20-25 minutes until all the water is absorbed and the rice is soft. If the rice is still too hard, add a few more tablespoons of water and cook for a few more minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes.
