Manjistha (botanical name: Rubia cordifolia) is also known as madder root or dyeing root because this climbing plant was previously used to dye tissues.
The roots of Manjistha plants dried in Ayurveda are used as a powder. According to Ayurveda, the roots of Manchu are reduced by Pitta and Kapha, its taste is bitter, rich and sweet, the effect "warms".

Method of use:
Externally for topical skin, scalp and hair: Mix the required amount of Manjistha powder with Cassia henna hair dye.
For facial skin: Mix the required amount of Manjistha powder and make a paste using rose water. Apply the paste on the face and avoid the eye area.

For internal use (according to Ayurvedic treatises): 1 teaspoon (5 g) twice a day with warm water or milk before or 40 minutes after a meal.
