Hemp seeds have long been known as a valuable foodstuff, widely consumed in Slavic countries and the East, especially during Lent. Hemp seeds are a valuable source of nutrients as they contain a variety of amino acids, fibre and the valuable essential fatty acids Omega 3 and Omega 6. Foods containing hemp seeds are increasingly being offered in the West, where they are described as superfoods, thus highlighting their superiority over other foods. Hemp oil has also only recently begun to occupy an important niche in the health products market, but it has made a very convincing and lasting presence, as the lack of Omega 3 fatty acids in the Western diet is forcing the search for new, natural sources of these valuable fatty acids.
Uses:
Hemp oil has a dark green colour, a mild flavour and a seed aroma. 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of hemp oil can provide the human body with its daily requirement of essential fatty acids. At the same time, hemp oil can be used to increase the nutritional value of the diet by adding it to salads, porridges and soups. This oil cannot be heated.
